Color trends are always a hot topic when considering interior painting. There are several avenues to stay current with interior designs and color schemes. We will share the top interior colors used by A Touch of Color Painters for 2013. If you’re a painter, homeowner or business you may be surprised with the new trends. Here are a few colors often used for interior house painting this year.

Hottest Paint Colors of 2013

The most frequently used neutral colors for 2013 by A Touch of Color Painting of Raleigh, NC are Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter, Moonshine, Smoke Ember, November Rain and Cape Hatteras Sand. All colors were painted by our professional painters mostly with an eggshell finish. If you take a look at the color choices you will find these colors to predominately be earthy light grays. Earthy light gray colors are difficult to find. There is an abundance of blue or silver undertone grays. Many interior and exterior grays can even appear purple. We find the slightly earthier grays are a little less cold and industrial feeling. An earthy gray still maintains a modern and sophisticated feel. However, it also offers a warm, inviting feel and often reflects more light than other grays.

The use of a color is largely influenced by the exposure a color has. If a huge avenue such as HGTV happens to share a popular color most likely the use of that particular color will increase. Other places such as Better Homes & Gardens, Parade of Homes, and other home décor avenues play a huge role in what’s in. Just because certain patterns or interior colors are in, doesn’t mean that it will fit or make a statement within your home. However, it can be a great place to start to guide you towards colors that truly inspire. Or grab a local professional painter that has the knowledge and experience that will cut out some of the legwork.
